We know beauty's an inside job, but beauty is as much a ritual as it is a daily necessity. A study commissioned by my clients at L'Oreal and Shiseido revealed that for women in Asia, this regimen can include up to nine steps which begins at the sensorial first-step of cleansing and ends with hair care or a scent picked from a wardrobe of scents.

I shot this with Kiwi photographer Charles Howells who flew in to capture this process. From masks to makeup, being gorgeous takes work even for women who wouldn't typically consider themselves high maintenance.
