Caesarstone competition

Caesarstone Project
This project was in conjunction with the annual Caesarstone, student competition. The site of the project was at the Colier Jetty at the V and A waterfront in Cape Town.

The project brief was a adaptive re-use project, meaning there is a historical significance to existing structures on the site that needed to be included in the design. This site included three historical Grain dispensors which are evidence of the sites historical ties to grain storage and distribution from Silos to ships and vice versa.

The project concept was to express the beauty of movement. Everywhere we look their is always something moving. This is particular evident at the site. the tides move and down without fail everyday, a seagulls feather falls to the floor. The architecture aims to express and enhance these subtle movements that happen all around us.
