This was the second project for the client who came to me for the Rogz Flingz project. After multiple test models and development, the product was brought to market as a Cat Treat Dispenser toy, being sold in Walmart Stores across Canada.

Licencing rights are held by my client.

The brief was to design a quality hard cat toy, that could be manufactured from a pre-selected bamboo composite.

After some market research of the different products in the market currently, I decided to refine the product to a treat dispenser, and found the best idea was around a rocking design, which eventually ended up being characterized as a mouse. The concept was improved with multiple prototypes to test the functionality and feasibility of aspects of the design until a final design was landed on.

Below shows two of the key stages of the design where a major change occurred in the development.

The idea is based around a rocking treat dispenser concept, with the opening for treats able to be adjusted by rotating the top half. The design is held together by a rubber band that can easily be removed to fill up the toy.

The final product is made from a bamboo composite, using a compression stamping manufacturing method.
