Herbaken is an educational board game about herbal plants in Indonesia. This board game was designed as my final project in visual communication design at Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember Surabaya. With illustrations drawn in such a beautiful way, are you ready to dive into its world?
Herbaken has 4 types of cards, 3 cards consisting of forest cards, and potion cards that can be used to complete the game objectives.
The tropical forest card is the largest forest region card consisting of 24 plant cards. The plants in this forest are plants that can grow in tropical forests, with enough sunlight and dense leaves.
The forest season card is the second card type with a total of 21 cards. It tends to have a warm tone, as the seasonal forest survives by following the seasons, and during summer, the leaves can be yellow and fall.
The last forest card type is swamp forest, which consists of 16 plant cards. Swamp forests usually have many types of plants that can live with a lot of water.
Potion cards are supplementary cards that must be purchased to fulfill objectives in the game. There are only 18 potion cards, can you collect them?
Coin, Water, and Fertilizer tokens are the currencies used in this board game. Players can collect coin, water, and fertilizer tokens from the cards drawn, and can be used to purchase potion cards.
There are 5 types of elements in plant cards, which are flowers, leaves, roots, fruits, and herbs. Herb is the most special type of element on the card. This element must be considered when the player wants to pick up the card and collect it on the player's board.
When picking up the card, don't forget to notice any danger signs, such as parasite, mold, or insect signs. Do you believe you have a bit of luck?
Herbaken can be played from 2-4 people, with an estimated time of 40-60 minutes and can be played for ages 15 and up.
Thank You!
