Charis

'Charis' means grace or kindness. It references the three graces in Greek mythology. They are the three daughters of Zeus representing charm, beauty and fertility.

During the final year of graduation in 2013, we were part of an environmental studies excursion at Bamunghata, South 24 Parganas. Soham and I were wandering around as always when we had came across a gaggle of friendly geese. I had clicked some pictures back then. I was looking back at those pictures. It inspired me and I wanted to illustrate it, using those as reference.

Toucan

There are interesting facts about rainbow-billed toucans. These birds were protected by tribes as toucans were believed to guide dead spirits from one world to the next. The Aztecs believed that toucans were messengers of gods, and their beaks were created from rainbows. They thought worshiping the toucans would bring rain.

Flamingo Dreams

Flamingos have been popular among artists and story-tellers for centuries. I have been wanting to illustrate a flamingo ever since I had a dream. There was something about the reds in particular.

Besides being one of the oldest species of birds, Flamingos are known for their exotic colour due to their diet. They get their name from the Spanish/Portuguese word meaning "flame-coloured" They symbolize balance, grace & passion among other qualities.
