She exhibited in Sydney as part of 'Cut and Paste', was in a group exhibition called Stick em up in Melbourne, as well as having work in Lady Fest. She works primarily with stencils, posters, stickers and characters. Leia studied Graphic Design and has a background in music as well as illustration. She spent the last 6 years producing and performing with 'The Blush Foundation', also working on a solo project called 'Hello Earth' and more recently with 'Wonderlust'.. Music inspires her Art and vice versa.

Leia Sidery takes her viewers through an exploration of dream-like nostalgia. The common themes and images in her work are children, characters and creatures. She has an almost poetic use of colour and an ability to create atmosphere in her Artworks. Playing on our most genuine emotions such as hope, fear, delight, loyalty and desire for freedom Leia shows a tender understanding of the human condition.

Leia's work in FAR AWAY HOME is a series of oil paintings called ‘Fear and Wonder’ These pieces shift through allegorical renderings of magic realms, hinting at the mystery that lies beneath the surface of outward appearance and experience. Leia provides a space to re-visit the child-like imaginary. With a flair for the mischievous and fantastical, Sidery’s paintings extend an invitation to revisit fairytale realms, yet are always ghosted by the potential for danger.
