Over My Dead Body is a game where the player jumps on platforms, dies, and uses previous versions of himself as platforms to help reach the goal. This game was created in Unreal Engine 5, and all code in the game as well as many models were created by me. I created the player animations and rigging using Mixamo to speed up the process.
Player Model, Goal Timepiece, Saw Hazard
All made with Blender
Recording, Fade In, Sprint
Made with Unreal Blueprints
This project showcases my abilities with Unreal Engine 5, Unreal Blueprints, 3D Modeling with Blender, and ability to create unique mechanics.
The temporary ragdoll system was something I was proud of, as I was not only able to enter a ragdoll state from the current pose, but also capture its current ragdoll pose, then stop simulating the ragdoll and stay in the captured pose. This allows the player to stand on the dead recordings without having them shift under the player, making them easier to platform on.

This project was a decent improvement on the original. While the original had ragdolls that would constantly shift under the player, this improved version now had the ability to stop simulating those ragdolls and freeze the animation.

I selected this item as I felt it showcased my mastery of the Unreal Engine, my ability to create 3D graphics, my ability to utilize game physics, and my ability to solve complex logic problems.

This project demonstrates my ability to program in Unreal Blueprint and demonstrates my ability to utilize the Unreal engine. For instance, Over My Dead Body taught me how to save the pose of a skeletal mesh for use in future animations, and how to activate and deactivate a ragdoll state. Over My Dead Body has several custom 3D Models that demonstrate my mastery of 3D modeling  and graphics. Lastly, Over My Dead Body demonstrates both my abilities with game physics with the previously mentioned ragdolls, as well as the ability to solve complex logic problems by having the recording and playback system for the other copies of the player.

After my instructor first reviewed this and provided feedback, I proceeded to refine the code to make it more optimized to improve performance.
