Misunderstood Words
is an ongoing project that explores the relationship between meanings and forms of the words.
I started from my dialect, putting in opposition those elements to create a feeling of estrangement, that could have an impact on a community for which words have the strength to go beyond meaning.
SUCA means "Suck" in Sicilian,
is a vernacular word widely used in Sicily, it has many meanings based on the context.
I used a flowerish fashion borrowing the washi paper style from the Japanese visual culture.

the style is taken from the art decò style lettering which was use from the fascist regime in Italy as a style of propaganda.
