A few months before I transitioned to developing Nordstrom's website, I worked with the email-specialized Nordstrom Digital Creative team to conceptualize and implement an improved email template.
The greatest challenge was utilizing less than 20 CSS attributes that my research showed was safe to use among our customers' email clients. The layout had to be minimal yet extensible for dynamic content such as the store locator and shipping messages. I separated sections into modules that were cleanly swappable with content targeting different market segments, international customers, and other Nordstrom brands such as the Rack and Men's Shop:
A few months after the full transition to the new template, I personally transitioned to full time development on the Nordstrom website.
