Remote Architecture Unit : Ostend

Based upon a real environment and location in Ostend, this architectural and Interior design was an assignment for the LUCA school of arts located in Gent, Belgium. The challenge for this project was to create a living space for two persons using the respectations of the real structure, which in this case was a radar tower, bunker called the "Half Moon" constructed in the late 1950's to transfer radio communication from passing ships to the harbor. i used the connectivity of wooden supports to create a "cloak" around the bunker to change the exterior into interior.. leaving the outside staircase and windows extended.. therefore creating a more individual spacing between the walls and an interesting lookout post to the environment. this project was nominated for a jury award.. i put a lot of work and dedication to the works of Juliaan Lampens in this work and came out complete as expected.
These are a few HD film stills, shot at sunrise to present the feeling of the unit at the beach, giving an ultimatum
of light dispersion trough the wooden frames. Special thanks to Nils Verstraete. Student Film at Narafi Brussels
These are few shots i've made with my analogue camera in the moment we set up the lightning and environment.. some neat captures were found.
