Project CV 2014 - Prints

Well, it was time to freshen up my CV to further my career in the graphic design world.

I wanted to create something a little different this time round, something that would make my CV SCREAM and SHOUT hire me. I also wanted to show off my typographical skills and present my CV in a friendly and unique way that would intrigue interest.

So, here we have the first stage. A simple envelope letter with a hint of something different with a yellow window.
Once opened, this would reveal an opening letter, but because the leaflet below is the first thing they see, I'm hoping that this will make them look through it first.

The leaflet starts with, Hello...
On turning the page, the reader is then met with a brash bold yellow typographical display that should hopefully guide the reader through my message.
On the opposite page is a simple bitmap image of me peeping through a castle wall. The idea being it looks prison like and the words below "Release the Creative" helps to confirm the image.
Once folded out completely this shows my CV in a nice easily to follow format.

Im not quite sure where the Creative Superhero came from, but was the first idea I came up with and instantly loved the wording. In a world of comic book films etc. dominating the cinema, I think its quite fitting in my area of graphic design expertise.
CV's can look very boring. I wanted to make my CV stand out a little, and be a joy to look through. One way I achieved this was to add little graphics to sum up my skills.
My letter head also included my identity to further the effectiveness of the whole look.

I also included a business card that slotted inside the letter head that i think probably shows a little bit of clever thinking.
The branding colours are important, and to carry on the effectiveness of the look, even the paper clips are colour coded
Unfortunatly, quite a few recruiters require CV submissions directly through email or websites. This meant my initial leaflet style first impression was not possible. So above I have created an A4 version that employers can easily print out. This still kept much of my branding, just re-worked to fit in an A4 way.
Sometimes, employers require the full details of everything and anything you did. So with that in mind, I also created a link to where employers could download a full version of my CV.

First impressions are important, and recruiters/employers want to skip through the main points of a CV very quickly, hence why I would supply the full version in the first place as this could hinder my progression to the next stages. its important to cover all options.
