SUMMER OF THE FIVE SEAS

SUMMER OF THE FIVE SEAS
I created this series of illustrations specifically for participation in the Bologna Exhibition. I wanted to capture in them the summer and the trips that I was lucky to make during this time. The challenge was to combine impressions from completely different countries into one series, to maintain unity without losing individuality.
Therefore, despite the fact that this is one series of works, I chose a unique palette for each illustration.
At the same time, there are shades present in all the works, which helps not to lose unity.
SPAIN
Spain is a "first time" for me. I flew by plane for the first time, saw palm trees and mountains for the first time, took part in an international project for the first time. An explosion of emotions and colors - therefore, such a palette.
ITALY
The trip to Italy turned out to be lazily beautiful, hot and unhurried, a little lyrical, a little sad.
I remember her with tender nostalgia and the same feeling in me is caused by the chosen color combination.
BRUSSELS
Brussels is sweet, as are its famous waffles. The houses look like toys from my childhood dream and I can't quite believe that regular people live and work in this fairy tale. Lots of chocolate and too much splendor.
BERLIN
Berlin - love at first sight, the whole world in one city, everything happens in one place at once.
A city that I've been discovering every day for almost 7 months now and that never stops surprising.
LATVIA
And Latvia became a real rest for the soul, which I needed so much. Nature, architecture, lights and smells - everything seems to come from my childhood. I took with me as a souvenir the reserves of calmness, hope it will last until the end of the winter.
Thanks for watching!
