This is an experiment into photo manipulation because I wanted to try it out. I really enjoyed working on this image.

I started with this image:

Then added in splashes I got from this pack:

A lot of the edges on the splashes needed cleaning up as the cutting out on them wasn't very neat. I also had to change the colours on each splash individually to get them to match the colour of the dress. The reflections on them were really harsh in places so I had to remove/repaint them to make the splashes look more like satin. I retouched the girl, brought out some of her features by making the lips redder and around the eyes gave the area a hint of blue. I also graded the entire image.

Arethusa is a Greek Naiad (nymph who presided over fountains, wells, springs, streams, brooks and other bodies of fresh water). Which I think is fitting as she looks like a water spirit.
