Web Design for a Blacksmith Association

Website Redesign
I was asked to do a site redesign for UMBA. After talking with them, I realized they didn't have a clear idea of the purpose their site served, or how it was really used by the board or the members. I developed a questionnaire for the board members to answer and to help them think through what they wanted and needed. Based on vague and general feedback, I created a style sheet, site map, and option for a home page. The board realized their association needs to do some more work on their end before a site redesign could be done.
User Testing and Usability
The design needed to be very basic and over-explanatory, as many of the users are older midwestern men and women who really aren't tech savvy and don't care to be either. Through user testing on my design, I was able to determine that I needed to use more direct and simple commands and statements, such as "CLICK HERE" or "END OF PAGE." I was surprised to find out through my testing that more users accessed the site on a tablet or mobile device, I assumed it would have been accessed more from a desktop computer.
Style Sheet, Questionnaire, Site Map
Below are logo options I created for them as they currently don't have a working one, and a color scheme developed from client feedback and my inspiration pictures.
