All illustrations start with a rough thumbnail...always. Given to the client to approve, then pencils, inks, and colors, all approved each step. This project was pretty awesome because I love Sci-Fi, and to do illustrations for a Sci-Fi author was always a dream of mine. These more horizontal illustrations were used for the inside of the book...but then towards the bottom, you can see where the client changed the size of the illustrations to be more vertical.

More illustrations for the inside of the eBook and author Ted Lambert. Using the more horizontal set up, personally, I like these better because they fit better in and with the copy in the book.

With these illustrations, the client wanted to do some of the art vertical. So we accomplished that, along with it fitting well with the copy as well.

This is the final cover for the eBook, using the smaller illustration I did for the inside of the ebook. The client asked me to make it work with a more vertical cover size.
