ARCHITECTURAL INGREDIENTS
March 2014
This book is not about buildings: the architectural product, details and glossy photographs of completed projects; rather it is a short, mostly visual and highly subjective account of the creative process behind designs. How ideas germinate, are nurtured and ultimately developed into a design proposal. It unravels the fictitious myth behind the genius of the designer and exposes the messy, often dirty process of translating and transforming a thought into a project.
The structure of the book, in the same manner as my design process, is non-chronological: steps are often excluded, chapters constantly rearranged where the final composition here presented can be read as a frozen instance, a captured moment, of the constantly changing, dynamic design process.
Architectural Ingredients is the first book in a series of three volumes that falls under the heading “:ook” that aims to explore the world of architecture not from the standpoint of buildings, but all explore the hidden realities of designing space.
