This project, situated in Pittsburgh's Strip District, was dedicated to environmental systems which would create a healthier Allegheny River. My partner, Travis Rozich (travisrozich.com) and I chose to create a Wetland Park with a destination restaurant. The shape of the wetland gathers water from the Allegheny River, controls the speed through gabian pathways, and filters the water through wetland plants and organisms.
This poses the opportunity for vistors of the Strip District to interact with the Allegheny River. The expanded Riparian zone allows users to walk through the filtration system, and become more knowledgeable about the health and potential for the Allegheny.
