Rex Barber Logo

My cousin has finally gotten his official barber license. Now that he can officially make a name for himself, he needed a logo that represented his work and skill. When working on his logo, I wanted to make it more personal to him, how he wanted to represent himself.

He wanted his logo to focus on his nickname that his barber friends gave him, Rez, as it is short for his last name Gutierrez. Also, he has a lot of tattoos all over his sleeves all in the same style, American Traditional. As stated, he wanted his logo to be personal, I intended to do so by making his logo inspired by the  American Traditional style.

He gave me more information on what he wanted on his logo, he wanted it to have either clippers or a barber razor. He also wanted his design to include red and black. With all of the information given to me, I got to work and did some sketches to give him a visual idea on what he would prefer.
After I showed my cousin some of my concept ideas for his logo, he landed on his top 3. Once I got his favorite designs, all I had to do was add them to my computer and make them more polished.
I really wanted to give the design a tattoo look to them, especially since American Traditional have that gradience look to them with heavy black strokes. After polishing the final designs, my cousin decided to go with the left design.
With that final note, I have finished the design for my cousin's personal barber logo.
