Juno is a budgeting app designed for middle aged adults. The creative brief for this project was to create a library of illustrations to be used within the app interface. Juno targets users who are busy with daily tasks and responsibilities. It is a sleek and innovative app that allows users to quickly and effectively manage their finances. The visual identity centres around astronomy to convey a sense of endless possibilities.
While making my thumbnail sketches, I started brainstorming different ways I could incorporate the theme of astronomy. Based on the art direction moodboard above, I took consideration into the illustration style and aimed for one that uses gradients and textures.
The typeface Lexend is used throughout the product interface to keep everything simple and cohesive. For the colour palette, I wanted to keep it mainly neutral to give a modern and professional look. The tan/ gold colour is chosen to highlight certain parts of the interface because gold is associated with money and stars.
Here are the illustrations for the launch and home screens. I played with astronomical objects such as a shooting star, northern lights, the Moon, and a comet.
