NEVROZE ȘI AMOR
The concept behind my series, "Nevroze și amor" ("Neurosis and love", "Necrosi e amore") is based on the idea that sorrow and love are deeply connected. Through my images, I wanted to externalize my obsessive feelings regarding death which oscillate between love and hate. Each character represents an alter-ego of mine: the dead lover, the mourning lover, and even death itself. For this series, I took inspiration from the poetry of my favorite Romanian author: George Bacovia. Every photo is inspired by one of his poems. Most of my images are self-portraits because I wanted to focus on detaching myself from my own person. My goal is, on the one hand, to see myself from the outside in order to better understand my inner self, and, on the other hand, to challenge the viewer to an introspection of their own self.
