Educational Web Tools

Educational Web Tools: Below are 3 videos from a few interactive applications I helped design for TimeForKids.com

All layouts were designed in Adobe Photoshop from wireframes in order to iron out look & feel and to troubleshoot user interface issues. Each layout respects and extends the brand, style, and content created by the art director and staff of Time For Kids magazine.

Creative Director: Beth Bugler
Art Director: Kirsten Sorton
Designer: Mary Mathieux
Production Manager: Marilyn Goldman

1. A+ Papers tools allow for experimenting with writing 8 different kinds of papers such as book reports, persuasive essays, news stories, etc. The tool helps students learn structure, and makes what can seem like a big task less imposing.
Basic interaction is shown in a short video(Below)
2. The Flash-card Maker tools allow for learning and memorizing lessons from Math, Science, Social, Studies, and Geography. In addition to the ready made card sets, the learner can also make a flash-card set for any subject they want to learn with the customization tool.

Basic interaction is shown in a short video(Below)

3. The Around The World tools allow the learner to explore faraway places with their fingertips. They can pick any country in the world and learn important facts about that country's geography, history, and even what a day is like for an individual currently living in that particular country. The Native Lingo tool even allows the learner to listen to the sound of the language.
