Barcelona 2022-2023
A VilaVeïna is a reduced territorial unit in the neighbourhoods of Barcelona that facilitates orientation towards all related to care. The central axes of VilaVeïna are the people of Barcelona and the co-responsibility of the city in their care. VilaVeïna is part of the daily life of Barcelonians and its services are present in each of the phases of their lives, from infancy to old age.
For the communication of 2022-2023, we work together with the Barcelona City Council and the Foment de Ciutat department on a series of illustrations, to be applied in different media, from print booklets to digital, social, and web media. These illustrations represent the main VilaVeïna's services and were brought to life through the representation of different characters. The gestural and handmade illustrations are combined with vibrant and pop colours to create a warm, human, and unique look.
It creates a dynamic result using less descriptive and more abstract representations and breaks with the stereotypes showing the real variety and colourfulness of the Barcelonians. A bold and attractive style where the people are the protagonist, responding to one of the main objectives: to create a close and personal language and move away from social services and health care codes that can make it perceived as welfare.
