The central focus of this project revolved around designing social housing units for individuals as an important dimension of social welfare policy and affordable housing provision.
With a maximum capacity of six apartments, prioritising accessibility for disabled individuals, and establishing a direct connection to the park in front, the building's significance extends beyond its structural aspects. The utilisation of materials, particularly the extensive application of metallic mesh that “covers”  the structure, plays a pivotal role in its aesthetic, evoking a resemblance to various textiles originating from Prato, Italy, where the project is situated. The manner in which the metal mesh filters the light imparts an additional ambiance and allure, contributing to the psychological well-being of the apartment's residents.
Another goal is to construct these residences with affordability in mind, targeting individuals eligible for public housing compared to those with higher incomes.

The park situated in front of the building is an integral part of the overall concept. It holds a consistent theme, incorporating light metal elements throughout its design.
The park is thoughtfully divided into interconnected sections, resembling pieces of a puzzle, featuring a rich assortment of colourful plantings, where each function  corresponds to the surrounding context.  Noteworthy among these are meticulously nurtured bamboo groves, which infuse the park with a unique atmosphere, enriching its overall allure. Moreover, the park boasts a range of facilities to enhance the experience for visitors and passers-by, including a dedicated playground for children and shaded areas that provide comfort for the elderly.
Regarding technological  solutions, we decided to focus on two important strategies:
The winter air conditioning strategy, with the incorporation of radiant panels and the artificial ventilation strategy with built-in fan coils.
These strategies improve comfort , are energy efficient and induce indoor air quality.
