What is Afro-Futurism
Afro-Futurism is a movement within the African Diaspora. Aesthetically, it takes black cultural practices and or ideas and reimagines them with science and technology. It explores what the world would have looked like without colonization or what it could look like in the future. Black liberation is put at the forefront. In taking part of Afro Futurism, it hopes that Black Americans can feel more connected to their African lineage.

What is Neo Expressionism?
Neo expressionism takes a more abstract approach. The idea is a style of art that represents black culture in an avantgarde way/setting. There are no rules and it may not be as easy on the eye however, it usually has a deeper meaning. It’s an older movement than Afro futurism is, having its start in the 1970s.
