In the fable (animal fable), human traits are transferred to an animal species. This trick can be used to dramatize and exaggerate the personality of a character, as well as to narrate incidents with a new perspective. Original attributed to Marcus Gheeraerts the Younger, perhaps the most symbolic portrait of the Queen is the Rainbow Portrait. It was painted around 1600-1602, when the Queen was in her sixties. In this painting, a timeless Elizabeth appears dressed as if for a masquerade , in a linen top embroidered with spring flowers and a cloak draped over one shoulder, her hair loose under a fantastic headdress. She wears symbols from the popular emblem books , including the cloak with eyes and ears, the serpent of wisdom and the celestial armillary sphere , and carries a rainbow with the motto non sine sole iris ("no rainbow without the sun"). As Queen of France, Marie Antoinette lost all connection with money. She spent huge sums on fashion and fancy hairstyles while the common French people became poorer and poorer. In 1789, the people began to fight back. Marie Antoinette was executed by guillotine on 16 October 1793 in the Place de la Concorde.
