Shahmeran
Snakes are one of the most respected animals with an important place in the folkloric traditions of the people of Anatolia. Myths about snakes were materialised in Anatolia with The Shahmeran Legends and survived as a mythological symbol until today. These legends have signs from Indian, Persian, Greek, Hebrew and Arabic sources.
Shahmeran (Shah of snakes) is a half women and half snake mythical creature.
