What is re-cyc auto? How automobiles are being recycled?
What is re-cyc auto?
Automobiles or vehicle recycling is a process that refers to disassembling vehicles to reuse spare parts and steel for other purposes. After a certain period, vehicles have a value of being recycled and reused for their spare parts which take place in automobile recycling industries. Auto recycling has been happening for several years, which attracted manufacturers to be involved in the process. In the United States alone, roughly 15 million cars reach the end of a cycle to be reused after going through the process of recycling. The auto recycling industry is one of the largest in the USA and contributes $25 billion to the national GDP of the USA.

Process of re-cyc auto

In order to understand what is re-cyc-auto? understanding the process of recycling a vehicle is crucial. Recycling a vehicle is a complex process. Many parts need to be recycled, and many hazardous materials need to be removed. The process begins by removing different parts of the cars which are easy to be removed and make the other process easier. Beginning by removing the wheels and tires, the battery and the catalytic converter, and most important fluids, such as engine coolant, gasoline, AC refrigerant, etc. are drained. It is common to remove high-value parts from vehicles before moving further. This process is typically done by hand, which can be labor-intensive and unprofitable if too many parts are removed. After all the components and parts inside of an auto are removed, the remaining shell may undergo further processing of re-cyc auto. This can involve the removal of the air conditioner evaporator and heater core, as well as removing of wiring. The remaining shell is then typically crushed and shredded flat or into cubes, which makes for more efficient transportation in bulk to an industrial shredder. The vehicle's scraps are further reduced into chunks of metal. Components like rubber, glass, and plastic are removed during this process of re-cyc auto, and they sell metal in tons to steel mills for recycling.

Benefits of recycling automobiles

There are many benefits to recycling automobiles, both for the environment and for economics. By recycling steel, we can save energy and natural resources. Every year, steel industries save enough energy to power around 18 million households, and recycling metal uses about 74 percent less energy than manufacturing new metal. This saves approximately 85 million barrels of oil annually by automobile recycling industries. They can distribute spare parts to different manufacturing industries, which can help in turning the primary spare parts into tables, playground surfaces, shoes, or workout equipment. Metal from recycled vehicles is enough to produce approximately 13 million new cars every year, which can save energy, money, and time. As innovation in car recycling continues to grow, it is becoming more evident that the automobile recycling industries are best positioned for future sustainability and growth. Vehicle recycling helps to reduce the emission of greenhouse gases into the environment and also helps to conserve energy.
