It's quite a journey indeed.
While AI art has certainly caused an uproar, and with good reason, I can't help but loving the potential of the tool. But crucially, as a tool.
Years ago, I conceived of the creative vision to remix nature. Midjourney gave me a way to do it. In my use of Midjourney, the aim is not to clone other art styles or create kitsch but rather to explore what is possible: evoking forms that either wouldn't be possible with existing tools or would be unlikely through their use.
Houdini and Unreal Engine both provide intricate systems that I also utilize, but the strange and surreal forms from the AI is something I find incredibly beautiful and inspiring. I hope the intention behind the work speaks for itself.
