Amidst rising air pollution and new developing viruses, respirator masks are increasingly becoming a necessity. Greater populations have seen masks introduced into their daily lives, providing safety to users but also becoming a barrier to their natural human expressions. Aeri by Amazfit is a mask concept driven by the need for connection during times of social distancing. Aeri features a clear anti-fog cover and a translucent frame, allowing all main features of the face to be visible. By revealing the face, the design concept shows full emotions, improving non-verbal communication, and reducing the impact on daily life.
Final Design
Adaptive Air Flow
Once the mask is worn and the user begins to breath, generous airflow is delivered through intelligent fan modules on each side of the mask. The sensors within determine the appropriate fan speed to making breathing effortless and provide a comfortable experience. The ventilation fan increases airflow and cools down the mask in humid and hot environments. An AQI sensor unit can give real-time information on air-quality, humidity, respiratory rate and filter expiration. The modules are easy to remove and allow the user to replace the filters when needed.
The linear neck strap is a unique design that gives comfortable support for long periods of time. The strap is adjustable to accommodate most sizes. Since the mask does not attach to the ears like typical masks, user will not experience soreness on the ears that can develop over extended wearing. The linear strap also avoids contact with style options, like glasses, hats and various hairstyles, to be truly unobtrusive.
UV Self Disinfecting
The Aeri masks use built-in Ultraviolet lights to self-disinfect. These UV lights are activated when the mask is not in use and connected to a power supply. Habitual disinfecting after each use can dramatically increase the lifespan of each filter and reduce the environmental impact.
