Express Railway Station, Xian (CN)

The concept is simple, yet elegant - a huge ring, with an undulating silhouette, reflecting the famous nearby mountains was the core of LAB5 Architects' entry for the competition to design the new express train station for Xian, located in the center of China.

Creating massive aerials for competition entries is a demanding job, usually having only a very limited time to develop the images, and carefully balance the amount of detail necessary to make the image readable, yet not too crowded to lose focus on the architecture.
