LUFT
The rise of electric vehicles and drones has brought about an interesting synergy with emerging viable flying cars. Flying cars/taxis, personal drones can be seen as concepts for many years, however, the concepts have been developed into prototype vehicles currently undergoing testing and being considered by regulatory authorities for imminent use.
Through this studio will explore and develop a digital workflow for designing flying vehicles that could replace the family car. We will be looking at digital sketching and form development with Autodesk Sketchbook and Fusion. Consider structures with generative modeling and structural analysis software and validate our vehicles with simulated human factors and aerodynamic software. Finally, we will be presenting our vehicles through Rendering and VR packages for the exhibition at the semester Exhibition.
In this project, I proposed a transportation service for tourists to visit Lake Entrance from Melbourne and nearby. The average travel time from Melbourne CBD to Lake Entrance is around 3-4 hours by car, hence limited hours to enjoy the place and tiredness for driving. With the electric drone air-taxi service, traveling hours can be reduced to 1-2 hours, efficiently saves time. Even more, the fantastic view from the above will gives the tourists a pleasant experience. The air-taxi is able to carry 4 passengers.
