Native Zoo & Conservation

Senior Exhibit: Native Zoo & Conservation
Exhibit Statement
Native Zoo & Conservation is a zoo based in South Texas that is home to the unique and native wildlife of the Rio Grande Valley. From mammals to birds, amphibians, reptiles and more, Native hosts over 1,500 animals that are ready to be seen by you and people from all over the world! Native’s purpose is to educate and promote conservation on the local animals of the RGV. By educating the public, Native hopes to inform the people of the RGV and visitors from all over the world on the importance of taking care of these animals, their habitat, and why conservation is needed. Visitors will be able to attend tours, educational events, participate in activities, learn about the beautiful wildlife of the RGV, and what they can do to help. Native Zoo & Conservation works to always ensure the protection of the animals, providing the best care, supporting further wildlife research, and preventing the endangerment of any RGV species.

I have always been fascinated with animals and was inspired to do a project on the unique wildlife located in the Rio Grande Valley. The RGV is my hometown and it has a wide range of spectacular animals that you can’t find anywhere else in the world. I think it is important to educate ourselves on the animals that live around us and what we can do to make sure they are kept safe and protected. I wanted to create this zoo as if it were an actual zoo in the RGV to spread awareness and hopefully inspire the people of the RGV to take part and action in protecting our precious animals to prosper for years to come.
