TRIBUTE TO FATHER JULIO LANCELLOTTI
Personal drawing to pay my tribute to the incredible work of this priest in the streets of SĂŁo Paulo.
DIGITAL PAINTING
Author: Marsal Branco
At 73 years old, going to the streets of São Paulo every night to take care of homeless people, Julio appears to me as a real superman. Instead of putting a christian cross in his hands, I put this bean, the most popular food in Brazil, as a symbol and a reminder that the great spiritual leaders never cared about their religions, but about fraternity. Quoting him: To be christian, buddhist, atheistic or other really does not matter if you see the suffering around as your suffering.
I put this native divindity instead of Christ as a symbol against the racism that acts over poor, black and original people being killed, prosecuted or marginalized in this dark moment of the brazilian history.
THANKS!
