10 years of specialized outpatient palliative care

The team of the Specialized Ambulatory Palliative Care in Ludwigsburg
(SAPV for short), enables seriously ill people and their relatives to lead
self-determined life until death in their familiar home or at an inpatient
care facility through holistic support.

To mark the tenth anniversary of SAPV, a publication has been produced that pays tribute to the valuable work of all those involved and provides an insight into their day-to-day work.

Care also takes place in the perception and, in the best case, leaves a lasting effect on the innermost being of every person. A comforting veil that
wraps itself around you and carries you.

Following this metaphor, delicate, diffuse color gradients run throughout
the book. They remind us of the fleetingness of moments or feelings and the transience of life.

The color spectrum contains both warm and cold, mutually harmonious, colors and symbolizes the complementary and at the same time mutually dependent relationship between life and death.

The typography flows on the soft background and adapts to the thematic circumstances. Sometimes it is in a clear grid, sometimes it is dynamically distributed over the printed sheet – always new and in interaction
with the content.

Candid snapshots provide an insight into real situations in SAPV. They create an emotional closeness and serve as an explanatory element.

Abstract nature photographs with their play of light and shadow, reflections, vague, soft shapes and natural colors run through the book like a short daydream or a hazy memory as small caesuras and create
soothing pauses.

Collected handwritten messages and thank-you letters from affected individuals and family members provide an intimate glimpse into the emotional value of the SAPV's overall work.
