For this project I looked into why people enjoy living on canal boats. I asked them a few questions and took a few photos of them and their boat.
The couple i spoke to live on there canal boat but they do own a house as well. They prefer to be on the boat but said once they reach an age where they can no longer use the boat they will live in there house.
They live with there dog called Rae, they love to socialise with people on the canal and so does there dog. This is another reason they prefer being on the canal instead of at home, because at home they don't get to socialise with many people.
Mooring fees vary from £3000 a year along with £300 for insurance and £800 for diesel and heating, you then also need a boat licence and the cost for this depends on the length of your boat. But they are retired and love the travelling, they are usually on Leeds Liverpool canal but i met them on Trent and Mersey canal.
