To promote myself as a designer, I needed to get past the first hurdle that has seemed to haunt me throughout my life - my surname. Living in England, where anything that isn't 'Smith' or 'Jones' regularly gets pronounced wrong, or replaced by something completely abstract. Being half Greek, and therefore having a Greek surname has been a bit of an obstacle for teachers and others. Mer-TE-kis. Not hard!!
Anyway, I decided to make it a bit more memorable. Through a bit of research into words i could use for this, I came across 'merkin'. Unbeknown to me previously, this refers to a pubic wig. And sooo....
