Tension is comprised of, lengths of stainless steel wire rope are held in tension by curved steel legs supported on an oak base allowing the glass tabletop to be effortlessly suspended.

Inspired by suspension bridges in both form and construction, and translated into the design through the use of steel wire rope. Utilizing this often industrious material as an aesthetic component while demonstrating its functionality was an important aspect of the table’s composition. 

Tension is constructed using solely mechanical connections, and as such is completely disassemblable allowing for economical transport and distribution. The machined steel standoffs connecting the wire to the table are adjustable to ensure that the Tension table top hangs level.
