Yilan Public Library - Visual Identity Proposal

宜蘭縣行政區域共分為 12 鄉(鎮、市)公所，目前計有 16 所公共圖書館，除文化局圖書館外，尚有宜蘭市、羅東鎮、頭城鎮、蘇澳鎮、礁溪鄉、壯圍鄉、員山鄉、冬山鄉、五結鄉、三星鄉、大同鄉、南澳鄉等鄉(鎮、市)立圖書館。各鄉鎮人口數依地理環境及區域發展有所不同，惟以蘭陽溪溪南、溪北分界行政區人口數，則可發現相當平均，在閱讀推動平衡角度而言，各館均有其扮演重要角色。

將透過新建宜蘭縣立圖書館總館(現文化局圖書館)，以「宜居宜學、夢想蘭圖」之願景，重構人員、服務、館藏、空間及社區等五大面向，成為縣內標竿圖書館，形塑地方文化知識中心，進而引領並帶動各鄉鎮圖書館結合社區需求與資源永續發展。

期望透過建立宜蘭縣公共圖書館識別系統，提升整體服務辨識度及行銷效益，達到整體視覺效果美化，並使館員及讀者對品牌產生信賴感。

The administrative region of Yilan County is divided into 12 townships and cities, with a total of 16 public libraries. In addition to the library under the Culture Bureau, there are also township/city libraries in Yilan City, Luodong Township, Toucheng Township, Su'ao Township, Jiaoxi Township, Zhuangwei Township, Yuanshan Township, Dongshan Township, Wujie Township, Sanxing Township, Datong Township, and Nan'ao Township. The population of each township/city varies depending on the geographical environment and regional development, but it is relatively evenly distributed between the north and south of the Lanyang River. From the perspective of promoting balanced development of reading in every township and city, each library plays an important role. By establishing the main library of the Yilan County Library (now known as the Culture Bureau Library) with the vision of "livable and learnable, dreaming of Lantu (a homophone for blueprint in Mandarin), meaning to be a good place to live and learn, and to dream about the future, the library has reorganized staff, services, collections, space, and community. It has become a local cultural and knowledge center and a flagship library in the county. Additionally, it has helped to guide and support various township libraries in responding to community needs and utilizing resources for sustainable development. It is expected to enhance the overall service recognition and marketing effectiveness by establishing the Yilan County Public Library identification system, achieving overall visual beautification, and making librarians and readers have a sense of trust in the brand.

此提案以打開的書本為核心概念，融合了宜蘭的英文開頭“Y”字。將符號連續排列後，呈現出山巒的輪廓；再將其倒轉，則變成是海浪的意象，呼應宜蘭三面環山，一面環海的地方特色。顏色上呼應山與海的概念，選用藍色與綠色為主要色系，也將其色調淡化，讓兩色放在一起減少對比、更加和諧。

Proposal A This proposal takes an open book as the core concept, integrating the English letter "Y" at the beginning of Yilan. When the symbol is arranged in a continuous line, it presents the silhouette of the mountains; when it is reversed, it becomes the image of the ocean waves, echoing the unique geographical features of Yilan, surrounded by mountains on three sides and the sea on one side. The color scheme also reflects the mountain and sea concept, with blue and green as the main colors. The tones are lightened to reduce contrast and create a more harmonious look when the two colors are used together.

如果講到宜蘭，第一個聯想到的一定是大海！此館徽提案用律動的線條呈現翻開的書本。線條擺動像是鯨魚在噴水，也像是海浪的波動。顏色上也是海為主題，以深藍色、湖水藍為主色，搭配帶有點藍的冷灰。如果大海孕育了生命，那書則是蘊含了知識。

Proposal B When it comes to Yilan, the first thing that comes to mind is the sea! This proposed library emblem uses rhythmic lines to present an open book. The lines sway like whales spouting water, and also like the waves of the sea. The colors are also themed on the sea, with deep blue and lake blue as the main colors, matched with a slightly blue cold gray. If the sea nurtures life, then books contain knowledge. If the sea nurtures life, then books contain knowledge, and this emblem represents the harmony of both, showcasing the library as a place where knowledge is cultivated and grown, much like life in the sea.
