Vriksh is an alternate design studio in Bhubaneswar, Odisha; works solely with handloom weavers and artists, exploring and designing handwoven textiles, ensuring traditional designs are not dismissed as redundant. The idea was to re-interpret them in new ways, without taking away from what existed.

This piece celebrates Odisha’s ancient iconic motifs in fine tapestry weave with typical Dus Phulia border (ten lines of floating fishes and flowers), and a Pallu carrying legendary temple figures of Odisha like the Kamadhenu, Gajasingha, Garuda, and the Navagunjar. A symbol of diversity and co-existence; the myriad forms of the world and the universal truth that we are all one.
