Ambrosia: Chocolate Boutique, INTD-301

Concept: To create an ambrosial experience through intimate coves and an organic molding veneer that wraps around the space.
Customized wall mounted fixtures shaped like flowers, resemble the inside of the cacao seed and create a texture on the west wall. These fixtures are lit from behind, giving the appearance of light penetrating through a cloud. Pendants shaped like dripping chocolate become task lighting over the cashier and add to the effect of the molded chocolate element.
Ambrosia’s color scheme fuses cool and warm tones allowing the viewer to feel comfortable and relaxed as they experience the taste of chocolate bliss.

The color scheme incorporates cool and warm tones to invoke comfortable and blissful feelings.  Cool colors are used on the West wall to contrast the warm colors used on the east wall. Stainless steel flooring, white paint and neutral light fixtures are used on the west wall while the East wall incorporates brown veneer with pops of raspberry lighting on the molded chocolate element.
The lighting in Ambrosia is used to emphasize the senses. The coves on the molded chocolate element are lit by raspberry colored lighting to create the effect of an even glow throughout the intimate spaces. The chocolate element molds onto the ceiling and becomes a cove lit soffit that glows around its perimeter and becomes the overall ambient lighting of the space. The soffit appears as though it is floating in space with the up lit cove lighting flooding the perimeter and ceiling above with light.
