Project Description: Take photos of a building structure, sketch those photos, then use the sketches to compose a visually pleasing labrynth. After completeing the labrynth collage, cut it into strips and make a "book." The following four pictures shown here are of Giovanni's, an Itlaian restaurant in Copperas Cove, TX. I was mostly compelled by the gorgeous arches above the entrance when choosing this building.
The following two images consist of hand sketches I composed after taking pictures of the building.
The next step in the process was to scan the images in to my computer and resize them in order to create a compeling collage.
After composing the collage into a respectable design, I took a pen and made it permanent. I used multiple shading techniques for texture and shadows including stippling, hatching, and cross-hatching.
After inking the collage, I was asked to cut it into strips to create a "book." We had to color the entire book using only three colors. I chose red, gold, and blue to bring my collage to life. The first two images are of sinlge pages, with the final image covering a spread of two pages.
