A PRESENCE OF ABSENCE
The images in this project are based around the concept of a void that is tied to the loss of my twin while still in the womb. Although this subject has not had a great deal of research dedicated to it, studies have consistently shown that the womb-twin survivor carries a great sense of loss/abandonment throughout life.
The use of tightly cropped photography with translucent typography attempts to suggest the senFor this, my senior thesis project, I attempted to represent the void that comes from experiencing the loss of my twin while still in the womb. The empty spot on the wall and the ashes on the floor represent the presence of absence that accompanied this loss and would be carried with me throughout my life.
