HAMPI - Vijayanagara
Hampi is also called as Vijayanagara who ruled this city before. The history of Hampi dates back to 2nd and 3rd century eras. The vijaynagar empire had reached it’s height under maharaj krishnadevraya. This city is also known as the city of glory. This city also has several references with Ramayana.
According to the Ramayana, Lord Rama and his brother had visited this region, while looking for Sita. They visited this region to seek help from Vali and Sugreeva, who ruled the region. It is believed that the monkey king, Sugreeva lived here. And it’s the spot where Sita dropped her jewels as a mark when Ravana abducted her. It is believed that Lord Hanuman was born in Hampi. While visiting Lanka, Lord Ram met Hanuman near Hampi.
