Balkan Grandmas
We all know, love or not like them. Balkan Grandmas. What makes this grandma Albanian is the fact that she is preparing an Albanian meal. Other than that she could be from any other Balkan country. Creating a sense of unity and also a lovely memory of grandmas all around the world.
First, I designed the illustration in color. Choosing my color palette and planing the way I want to approach all the different patterns in her clothing. Using the brush tools that were already available in Illustrator. Leaving out the patterns on her shirt for the b/w design. To make the Illustration look more clean.
