Este projeto foi realizado em regime académico e em participação ao concurso “CHAMADA: Ativismos Visuais | Exposição colaborativa para uma intervenção Anti- Racista” organizado pela MICAR em parceria com a organização portuguesa SOS Racismo.
Para a elaboração deste projeto foi necessária uma quantidade significativa de pesquisa, recorrendo a jornais digitais, notícias de redes sociais e diversos outros meios de comunicação. Surgiu então a ideia de explorar o conceito de racismo nas redes sociais como propaganda de ódio
gratuíto. Neste processo foram recolhidos comentários frequentemente ocorrentes numa página de Facebook a qual não será mencionado o nome. Esses comentários de ódio, descriminação e ingenuidade, são respostas aos posts que essa mesma página faz. Durante a análise e recolha destes chocantes comentários, ocorreu o seguinte pensamento: Este tipo de comentários são lixo.
O lixo que é comentado nas redes sociais transmitindo ódio racial. Todas estas opiniões são incompreensíveis e como tal, não deviam ser partilhadas nas redes sociais. Com este conceito definido, foi elaborada uma composição em que estavam despejados alguns comentários retirados
do Facebook dentro de um balde de lixo tóxico.
A lição que se pretende tirar deste poster é a seguinte: Racismo não é opinião, é crime.

This project was carried out on an academic basis and in participation in the contest “CALL: Visual Activisms | Collaborative Exhibition for an Anti-Racist Intervention” organized by MICAR in partnership with the Portuguese organization SOS Racismo.
For the elaboration of this project, was needed a significant amount of research, using digital newspapers, social media news and several other means of communication. Then came the idea of exploring the concept of racism in social networks as hate speech. In this process, comments were collected, frequently occurring on a Facebook page, whose name will not be mentioned. These comments of hate, discrimination and naivety are responses to the posts that this same page makes. During the analysis and collection of these shocking comments, the following thought occurred: These types of comments are garbage.
The garbage that is commented on on social networks transmitting racial hatred. All these opinions are incomprehensible and as such, they should not be shared on social media. With this concept defined, was designed a composition in which some comments taken from Facebook inside a bucket of toxic waste.

The lesson to be learned from this poster is the following: Racism is not an opinion, it is a crime.
