Rivera & Rivera was a contemporary art gallery based in West Hollywood, California, it was created as a space to showcase the work of established, contemporary artists along side promising new talent. I was asked to refresh and the existing logotype which the client felt was old and dated. Initial thoughts were to have a sans-serif typeface, one that wasn't just another Helvetica, but that punches above. Effra was the perfect choice, its humanist design detail and clean lines and open proportions to express modernity. As a bonus, the font has a great ampersand which is a design feature in the rebrand. The client instantly warmed to it and that set the tone for the new identity. A new stationary set was designed which included a Art Portfolio, and letterpress business cards. I also designed a poster to promote International Artist Ray Turner's GoodManBadMan exhibition. The gallery has is now closed and today Rivera & Rivera is a multidisciplinary partnership deeply rooted in finance with an interest in the art market and interested in art funds, alternative liquidity, art lending, dealer disintermediation and, above all else, any project that improves the art market's legacy inefficiencies. — Art displayed on poster design is Copyright of Ray Turner Read Less
