Just a double broadsheet timeline of Notre Dame events done for the South Bend Tribune feature article about their 170 year anniversary.
We wanted to show the new areas of Adams High School and what was being changed. Rather than doing a boring floorplan map, I decided to do an isometric view that would be more interesting. The South Bend School Corporation were interested in doing one for each of their schools after seeing this to help students get around or plan out evacuation routes.
Not really my layout, but the graphic is mine. Done in Photoshop and Freehand on how a hangover works.
A design piece done on a local business that had opened up selling kitsch-y aprons that were full of bright themes. The main model here is Amanda Petrucelli, the editor's wife, the owner of the business in the top right and one of our HR people in the bottom right.
I did this design/illustration piece off an old photo ad from MCT to make it better fit the concept that the story was trying to get across. I started with a pencil sketch, scanned in to Photoshop and finished up in Illustrator.
Just lots of fun to do something in the historical vein for the Lincoln Highway.

I'm not sure that the play did so well, but it was fun doing the illustration and the copy in the shape of the woman's legs.
For the 10 year anniversary of 9/11, I wanted to run something bold with a positive message. 1 AP photo, some photoshopping for the frame effect and a few words won best in state for this cover.

I have always loved horror movies and comic books. Here's the perfect blend: The headline "Tales of Terror" uses the same font from a little know comic book "Terror Tales" that was published in a magazine format. The concept of the layout was mine but executed by Chris Tobin.
