"We tend to use phrases like “That’s just how they are” to generalize groups of people or disregard human individuality.  Often the “they” refers to people of a specific race. We often turn a blind eye to racial prejudice, even ignoring its very existence. People from all races separate themselves by putting their race on a pedestal, disregarding the fact that we are all equally human. Chairs represent the pedestal or “throne” people place themselves on when they regard their own race as superior or higher than another. Each chair represents a different race, as racism is not limited to any specific one. They face away from each other, ignorant to the fact that they are equal in height and part of one circle. The lack of a seat implies that this belief in racial superiority is as useless as a chair with no seat."
