This unfinished project is a demonstration of what is possible in eight hours of rapid fire development. I recently was tasked by an international institution to create a one-day concept for a visualization regarding the 2011 Genocide in the Ivory Coast. The condition for development was that I would be only given two hours to collect data, and six to construct the concept. The following day, a panel reviewed the concept.
These images are final product of that eight hour marathon of development.
This may still get made into an interactive data visualization in Flash (or if I'm feeling brave HTML5 Canvas). However, currently, I'm facing the challenge that news reporting in Africa is making the collection and dissemination of the facts of this case a bit of a problem.
