OAS parklet

“The city must not only be a transit space but also a space to rest in the middle of a chaotic flow”.
The main goal was to design an united structure but with different settings despite limited space. We wanted to keep the organic presence in our parklet both as a material of the structure and also in the integration of plants as a sort of division with the road.

For Viale Matteotti - Florence, we thought of integrating organic shapes instead of geometric shapes to ensure that the parklet integrates better with the surrounding environment.
The shapes bind together keeping the space in the center of the parklet creating a “scene” where everyone can live their own spaces.
The street lamp was designed in such a way as to have shapes that more concretely follow those of the parklet. The momentum given by the lamppost serves to give verticality and height to the continuous layering of the wooden boards. The material used is an opaque black aluminum worked by die-casting, while the lighting system has three tempered glass covers with an internal LED of 2500 lumens.
VASES
From the iconic Verner Panton seat as a clone object, we have thought of a product that retraces the same design process, from shapes to production methods. We have therefore conceived sinuous shapes that, with their trend, try to emulate the idea of instability that Panton can make you imagine at first glance.
The shapes that describe the vase have been designed in such a way as to be obtained from a single mold, just like the processing technique used for Panton.
The sinuosity of this vase is the result of the combination of the cantilevered structure and a slightly flexible material.
The colors designed for the vases are the combination of colors common in urban environments, chosen ad hoc to stand out in the chaos of the city without losing the playful trait of Panton.
